8x10 Mounting - Change Notice

For a while now, we have received complaints about the mounting of our 8x10 prints.  While we thought mounting was a nice touch for 8x10s, customers have been frustrated with the practicality of the matboard.  They want to scrapbook, place the prints in albums, or have trouble fitting them into some 8x10 desk frames.  As a result, we have decided to stop mounting the 8x10s on matboard as standard. We will continue to mount larger prints 14" or more to ensure they do not warp and can withstand wall frame mounting.  If you have a special request for mounting an 8x10 in the future, just let us know at your order and we will be happy to accomodate you at no charge. Thanks!

All grown up now...

Little Samantha is not so little anymore.  My niece came down today to visit and have her senior portraits taken (too bad the rain wouldn't stop for outdoor shots)...and it was a little strange.  Seeing the woman, not the girl anymore.  She is almost 18 and I can't believe the time has gone so quickly!  We don't see each other often, she is a teenager living "up north" going to high school in Grand Rapids, MN.  Soon she will be eagerly heading off to college pursuing her goals and aspirations.  I have no doubt she will reach them.  She is strong and wise for her age. 

As I was editing some of her images tonight, I could see my sister's jaw, smile and certain expressions I thought only my sister possessed.  It was really weird because it was the first time I really saw my sister in Sam.  She is blond, my sister is a redhead.  Their personalities are pretty much identical, but now I can see so much of Sheryl in Samantha.   Maybe it's because Sam's all grown up now...I guess we all turn into our mother's eventually=)  I mean that as a compliment, of course!

Graffiti fun...

We have been really busy here at The Cove with all our wonderful seniors!  Here are some recent images of a Senior from Andover High School.  He was wonderful to work with! We found some great new graffiti under the bridge. FUN!

His name just happened to be there under the bridge!  What a convenient coincidence!

Here is one with more great blues and orange. The graffiti has changed a lot since we have been here.  It is fun to see what is new under the bridge.

The 2008 Senior Season begins...

It's been a busy couple of weeks at the studio.  With our June session sale, we have filled up quickly.  There are still times available in July and August, but July is getting pretty full! 

We had so much fun with Kelsey from Anoka High School...Here are a couple of our favorites from her session.  Isn't this purple couch fun?  Kelsey plays guitar, so we spent some time capturing this part of her personality...
